Traveling through the jungle is a journey that everyone should experience at least once in their lives.
Let’s consider that not many have enough time to visit the Peruvian jungle as they would like, so we prepared a special program for you to enjoy these 3 days of travel in Manu National Park in the best way. We will be able to find a diversity of flora and fauna while enjoying night walks through the middle of the forest.
In Unique Amazon Peru we think about your safety, comfort, and enjoyment, which is why we provide you with highly qualified personnel so that you can turn your vacations into an unforgettable experience.
We will pick you up from your hotel at 5:30 a.m. in our private transport. As we journey through stunning mountains and valleys, we will arrive at the charming folkloric town of Paucartambo, where we will take a brief walk to explore and have the option to enjoy a local breakfast. Afterward, we continue for about 40 minutes to Acjanaco Pass (11,450 feet), marking the entrance to Manu National Park.
Once inside, we will embark on a hike through the misty cloud forest, searching for a variety of wildlife, including Peru’s national bird, the cock-of-the-rock, as well as quetzals, toucans, and playful monkeys. Later, we will reach our lodge and settle in for the night. For those interested, there will be an optional night walk to spot fascinating jungle creatures like spiders, frogs, snakes, etc.
In the morning, we will drive until we get a garden of hummingbirds. After spending some minutes over there, we will take the boat and go to our lodge to have lunch.
In the afternoon, we walk through trails where there is an opportunity to find monkeys, hoatzins “pre-Hispanic birds”, horned screamers, oropendolas, etc. After some minutes of walking, we are going to arrive at Machuwasi Oxbow Lake where you can ride on local rafts and watch birds from a tower.
As darkness falls, our expert guides will lead you through the wild, searching for elusive snakes, tarantulas, mysterious owls, scorpions, croaking frogs, and so much more. With each step, you’ll uncover the secrets of the nocturnal world and witness these fascinating animals in their natural habitat.
We will start with a scenic boat tour to visit a stunning clay lick, a natural phenomenon where a large number of vibrant parrots and colorful macaws gather to feed on the mineral-rich clay. After returning from the parrot clay lick, we will enjoy a delicious breakfast. Next, you’ll have the option to visit an exciting animal rescue center, where you can get up close with local wildlife and learn about efforts to protect unique species. An amazing experience to discover rescued animals and the work being done to ensure their well-being.
On our way back to the city of Cusco, we will make strategic stops to enjoy a typical lunch and use restroom facilities, arriving in Cusco at approximately 4:00 p.m., just in time to make the most of the rest of your afternoon.
Note: Wear clothing in more discreet tones like green, beige, gray, brown, black, etc. These colors blend better with the natural environment, allowing you to enjoy the wildlife without disturbing it and helping you maintain a low profile in the wild.
