Itinerary for Your 3-Day Manu National Park Tour
Day 1: Cusco – Cloud Forest – Rainforest Exploration
Your adventure begins at 5:30 a.m. with a pick-up from your hotel in Cusco. As we drive through the breathtaking Andean mountains, you’ll witness the stunning scenery on the way to Manu National Park. Our first stop is the charming town of Paucartambo, where you’ll have the option to enjoy a local breakfast and explore the town.
From there, we continue to Acjanaco Pass, the entrance to the Manu Biosphere Reserve at 11,450 feet above sea level. Once inside the park, we’ll embark on a fascinating hike through the lush Cloud Forest, where you’ll encounter a variety of wildlife, including the famous Cock-of-the-Rock (Peru’s national bird), quetzals, toucans, and playful monkeys. In the evening, we’ll settle into our rustic lodge. You can choose to join an optional night walk to observe jungle creatures like spiders, frogs, and snakes under the stars.
Day 2: Hummingbird Garden – Machuwasi Lake – Night Wildlife Excursion
In the morning, we’ll visit a hummingbird garden, a paradise for birdwatchers where you can admire different species of these fascinating creatures. Afterward, we will travel by boat to our lodge for lunch.
In the afternoon, you’ll explore jungle trails, searching for monkeys, Hoatzins (pre-Hispanic birds), horned screamers, and more. Our destination is Machuwasi Oxbow Lake, where you can enjoy a peaceful ride on local rafts, observing the diverse birdlife from a nearby tower.

Day 3: Parrot Clay Lick – Wildlife Rescue Center – Return to Cusco

After a delicious lunch, we’ll begin our journey back to Cusco, making strategic stops along the way. You’ll arrive in Cusco around 4:00 p.m., just in time to enjoy your evening in the city.
