We understand your travel goals when you visit Peru, you want to experience as much as possible without spending too many days in just one destination. That’s why we designed this program: a perfect short trip that lets you explore the Amazon jungle while still keeping your itinerary flexible.
This 2-day adventure is ideal for travelers who want a taste of the rainforest without sacrificing time in other amazing places like Cusco, Machu Picchu, or the Sacred Valley.
After an early pickup in Cusco in our private transportation, we will begin our journey into the rainforest. We’ll explore the cloud forest on short walks, looking for wildlife and taking in the beautiful scenery along the way.
After some time exploring the forest, we’ll visit a hummingbird garden, where we’ll also have the chance to spot different wildlife, including monkeys, oropendolas, tanagers, snakes, and more.
In the afternoon, we’ll head to the lake for a ride on traditional rustic rafts surrounded by the rainforest. Afterwards, we’ll return to our lodge and finish the day with a night walk, when the forest comes alive with a different kind of wildlife.
This day, we will visit a local wildlife rescue center, where you may have the chance to see macaws, turtles, monkeys, tapir, and other animals. We will also learn more about the importance of the center and the work being done to care for and protect these animals.
After this visit, we will take some time to explore nearby jungle trails, with more opportunities to spot wildlife along the way. Your guide will also introduce you to some of the medicinal plants found in the rainforest and explain how they have traditionally been used.
Later, it will be time to say goodbye to the jungle and begin our journey back to Cusco. Along the way, we will make some stops to use the restroom, stretch our legs, and take a short break.
We expect to arrive in Cusco around 6:00 p.m.
Important Note: To enhance wildlife observation and reduce your presence in the forest, please wear clothing in neutral and discreet colors—such as green, beige, brown, gray, or black. These tones blend naturally with the environment, helping avoid disturbing animals and allowing for a more immersive and respectful jungle experience.
