Itinerary 

Your jungle tour begins with the pick up at 5:30 a.m. We travel through the Andes toward Manu National Park, enjoying panoramic views before stopping at ancient pre-Inca funerary towers.

We then continue to the colonial town of Paucartambo, where we explore and have breakfast. A short drive brings us to the official entrance of the , one of the most biodiverse regions in the world.

Descending into the lush Cloud forest , we make several stops to spot wildlife such as quetzals, toucans, tanagers, woolly monkeys, and capuchin monkeys. In the afternoon, we visit a Cock-of-the-Rock lek, where Peru’s national bird performs its vibrant courtship ritual.

As we approach the lowland rainforest of the Peruvian Amazon, we may see macaws and other Amazon birds flying above the canopy. After settling into our jungle lodge, we head out on a night walk in the rainforest to look for frogs, insects, spiders, tarantulas, and possibly alligators.

We start the morning heading to Machuwasi Oxbow Lake. After a short walk through the jungle trail, we board small local canoe and explore the calm waters, surrounded by lush vegetation and amazing wildlife. This area is known for species like hoatzins, horned screamers, macaws, herons, and some monkeys, offering a perfect opportunity for birdwatching and wildlife photography in the Amazon.

After enjoying this lake experience, we have breakfast and then visit a wildlife rescue center (optional). Here, you can see rescued monkeys, macaws, peccaries, and other Amazon animals that are being cared for until they can return to the wild.

Before leaving the rainforest, we stop at a beautiful hummingbird garden, where several species of hummingbirds can be observed up close as they feed and fly around tropical flowers.

We then begin our scenic return drive from the Amazon jungle to Cusco, making stops for lunch and bathroom breaks along the way. Expect to arrive in Cusco around 6:00 p.m., completing your short but unforgettable full of wildlife encounters, rainforest landscapes, and cultural experiences.
