Day 1: Arrival – Jungle Lodge – Monkey Island Tour – Night River Safari in Tambopata
Your Amazon journey begins the moment you arrive in Puerto Maldonado. We’ll pick you up from the airport or bus station and take you to our office to confirm your details before boarding a boat for a scenic 40-minute ride on the Madre de Dios River.
Welcome to your jungle lodge! Enjoy a refreshing tropical juice and receive an orientation from your guide. After settling in, we’ll explore Monkey Island, home to playful monkeys, lazy sloths, and basking turtles. Later, we’ll head deep into the forest for a guided hike, learning about medicinal plants and witnessing giant ancient trees.
At night, an exciting river safari awaits. Under the stars, search for caimans, capybaras, owls, and more — the Amazon comes alive after dark!
Day 2: – Tambopata Rainforest Hike – Night Wildlife Walk in the Amazon
We start early to visit one of the region’s most beautiful places: Sandoval Lake, located within the Tambopata National Reserve. A 3 km hike takes us to this serene lake, where you’ll board a canoe to spot giant otters, black caimans, herons, monkeys, and more in their natural habitat.
In the afternoon, explore the lodge’s forest trails, where our expert guide will show you towering trees, healing plants, and colorful birds like macaws and toucans.
After dinner, we venture out with flashlights for a thrilling night walk in search of nocturnal creatures—sloths, night monkeys, tarantulas, opossums, and other jungle dwellers that emerge after dusk.
Day 3: Amazon Farm Experience – Jungle Lodge Checkout – Return to Puerto Maldonado Airport or Bus Station
After breakfast, we visit a local Amazon farm. Learn about plant grafting, traditional farming techniques, and sample fresh crops such as cacao, coffee, bananas, and more.
We return to the lodge for lunch, then head back to the city. You’ll have time to collect your luggage at our office before we take you to the airport or bus terminal.
